As time goes on in my campaign, I find I am uninspired by the T20 damage system. I flirted with the idea of adopting the Spacemaster system as you get nice detail from 2 rolls, but the "ratio" of the different types of weapons, and the different tech and universe assumptions might hurt the traveller "feel". It seems better suited to 2300/twilight 2000 anyway.

So I may well just rip off the stats from T4's Emperors arsenal/TNE. So an ACR does 4d6 damage to the stamina of the target. If the damage is equal to the targets lifeblood, they are badly hurt and I roll on a crit table, and give them a penalty to all their actions. On the crit table I can make nice injuries with DC's for the doctor to treat. Armour absorbes dice as in T4 and bursts add dice as in T20.

Just like that I get a death spiral effect, more interesting combat for combatants and more for the doctor to do, and get to use Emperors Arsenal for something.

Thoughts? Flaws? Suggestions?
